This is the plan for the gin pole we'll use for the next raising. The "A" frame will pivot on a couple of simple brackets made from 2 x 6's and a long 3/4" bolt pinned to the playa with re-bar staples.

Why are we all wearing hoodies when it is 106 degrees? Is it essential that we be killed in the process? Or is part of your project to engage in ritualistic human sacrifice?
It's a green theme thing. I thought we might use those fucking scooter riders to hoist the tower - then leave their bodies scattered around the base as a warning to others that may be considering the use of loud, petroleum based transportation.
You might be on to something!
